Life!

Shiloh started crawling last night. It was so fun to watch, I can't believe how these last seven months have flown by! Shiloh just couldn't wait to get mobile so she can finally chase down her bug brother. He can't seem to keep his hands off of her still. He wants to hold her and tickle her all the time. She adores him. I thought she might get sick of him in her face all the time but she gets jealous when he leaves her. He loves to try and give her snacks so we have to watch him with her all the time to make sure that he doesn't give her anything he shouldn't.
My first summer block is coming to a close and I think I have done very well. I was only taking one biology class and a lab so it wasn't too bad. The next block starts next week and I am taking Human Anatomy with a lab as well. The kids have been going to day care while I go to class so just a few hours a week. I was really nervous about it at first but they have done really well.
Now that I am adjusted into my school schedule I am finally ready to hit the gym again and start doing some extra curriculars! Hoping to have a fun summer with the kids going to the pool and some museums. I wish the weather would just stay consistent!

So here is a big catch up from whenever the last time I blogged was! Since then I have started a new semester. It's not too overwhelming yet but with two kids I can see it getting there fast. Israel started taking break dancing classes and it is one of the highlights of my week. He is so cute dancing with the other little kids. Shiloh has become a big smiley baby. When I say big I mean it. She is just over 12 pounds and has some fantastically chubby cheeks. She is one of the happiest babies I have ever seen and Israel still can't get enough of her. He likes to just kiss her as much as possible.
I have started cooking alot as an stress outlet. I find that if you think of cooking as a hobby instead of a chore it makes it alot more fun. Not all of the meals have been received as well as I had hoped. I made a baked salman with capers last week that was suprisingly left uneaten by everyone but me. Tonight I have coconut chicken with rice on the menu that I hope will be a hit. My husband says he is a foodie but he is very difficult sometimes. Next up is steak with baked yams and cinnamon butter but the real jem is gong to be on saturday. I am making Canard a l'Orange, better known as roast duck with orange sauce.
With all the delicious cooking comes some weight as well. I have but on 5 pounds in the last month.....I don't seem to have the desire to excersize either so I am at a little bit of a loss. That brings the grand total to about 10 pounds that I need to lose to be back to my pre-baby weight. I have so far cut out sodas and desserts for the most part and I am hoping that will do the trick but we will see. The goal is by the time my 24th birthday rolls around I will be back down to normal size. We will see....there is just too much good food to be eaten! Any fun recipe ideas are appreciated! Until next time which is hopefully sooner than later...

New addition!

We were so excited to welcome Shiloh Amelia King to the world at 4 in the morning on Halloween! She has been such a joy already! Israel can't get enough of his baby sister and loves to give her kisses and hugs.

Safe Kids Convention

Heather and I went to the Safe Kids convention this week with our kids and it was so much fun. Israel got a balloon sword, his face painted like a monster and a fire engine hat along with a terrifying lesson of why we need to give matches to our parents if found, and so much more. There was lots of learning and lots of fun.

Sick baby

Israel just got over a bad case of croup which was so hard. He was always exhausted but had a hard time sleeping. He would cry himself to sleep sometimes because he just felt so horrible. Since he is in a toddler bed now he can get out easily. These are some pictures of ways I found him sleeping that week.

Hey there!

It has been a while since I have had a spare minute to get online and let you know how we are doing. We have been doing fantastic. Jacob started his new semester and is loving the new classes. Israel has been upgraded to a big boy bed which he takes very seriously. The other night he decided he wasn't going to go to bed so he got out and opened his door and climbed onto my bed and jumped on me yelling "I found you!" Jacob and I had a good laugh about that before we sent him back to bed. Unfortunately we have had the flu here more often than I would like to admit. It seems like as soon as one of us gets over the other one gets it and it has been this way for a few weeks. Israel has started a new tradition of giving a million kisses at night. I think it is his way of postponing bed time but it's so funny I don't mind. He is learning and growing so fast. He amazes me everyday by all the words he comes up with that I never remember teaching him. It is so exciting to watch him grow before our eyes.

Bears and Monsters

Tonight we went to Thanksgiving Point which is a really fun place with shopping and a barn and dinosaur museum and what not. For Christmas they have Santa there to take pictures with and real Norwegian reindeer to look at and touch. They also have a area that you can drive through with your car and see Christmas lights. We went and saw the reindeer first and Israel was thrilled. I told him about how reindeer pull Santa's sleigh and he was really excited. Then we drove through to see the lights where they had several polar bear statues and more. He was really excited to see the polar bears and kept yelling "bears!" for about 15 minutes. When we got home I told Israel we had to go to bed so that we could be one day closer to when Santa came. I asked him if he remembered what pulled Santa's sleigh and he said "Yeah, bears" then he paused and said, "and monsters!" I couldn't stop laughing.

Family

Happy Holidays! I am so excited it's this time of year again. It always makes me evaluate my life and how much service I have done or could be doing for others. Even just something as simple as saying hello to someone who is alone or dropping off cookies to a friend. It always makes both parties feel a little better. Let's just hope we can stick with it all year this time and not just for the holiday season.

Israel and Ezra

This is Israel with his adorable cousin Ezra who is 4 months old!

Santa

We told Israel about Santa a few weeks ago and he has been talking about him ever since. So he finally got to meet him this wednesday and was a little scared. When Santa asked him what he wanted for christmas he said he wanted a "bikey" (i.e. motorcycle) I was suprised when this morning he remembered and told me that he wanted a "bikey" from from Santa.

My first 5K

I had so much fun doing my first 5K on saturday! It was was called the Nutcracker 5K and you work a tutu while you were running.

Dancing King

Israel loves to dance all the time. Any time there is music on he is sure to be dancing and singing. He loved it when his Aunt Harmony came from montana to his birthday party. They played and danced the whole time. My favorite part was when he had her help him with a summersault.

Israel is 2

Israel's birthday party was a hit! Thanks so much for all those who remembered it and were able to be there. It was a Chopper party complete with a tatoo parlor where the kids were able to get fake tatoos of motorcycles and what not. Israel loved having the little girls on hit party sit behind him on the mini 4 wheeler so he could give them a ride. He got a ton of awesome presents and we all had a blast.

Big Talker

I haven't updated this blog in forever so sorry for the million posts at once but I gotta do it sometime! BIG CRASH!

Trick or Treat Street

Happy Halloween! We have already had alot of fun this year for Halloween. Israel's great grandparents gave him a horse halloween costume that is adorable. He loves to make the horse sound while he is in it which is hilarious (and usually gets him more candy!)
